As the site was small(30’x40’), it was a challenge to incorporate all the all the clients’ requirement in that space. In order to make the most of the volume inside, the staircase was provided at the centre, bifurcating the structure not just in two halves but in two levels as well. Each landing leads to each level of the house. This not only makes the volume look bigger inside but also provides a better spatial experience. The difference in levels also provide an interesting scenario for the elevation where the rooms are made to look like they are stacked boxes at various levels.
